M.anifest got the rap heads putting on their thinking caps once again with a spectacular rap song he titled ‘Azumah Nelson Flow’ produced by Rvdical The Kid. Ghana has waited for this single probably because of the title and what we know he’s capable of when he wants to go all lyrical on a song. Guess what? M.anifest totally went in and did what we classify as an “Expose”.
For those who doesn’t know who Azumah Nelson is, he’s one of the greatest boxers ever Ghana will always be proud of and his speech at the beginning of this song simply defines the concept. To summarize the concept, it’s about people creating artificial waves just to cover up the best or sway people from seeing what or who the best really is…
Listening carefully to M.anifest, people (Artistes) simply create “Fake” waves just to get the public attention and spoon feed them with false success. Paying radios to keep their songs on rotations, doing all they can to get some songs off radio, greasing palms to get awarded, buying fake views and plays for their songs online just to create an impression because awards scheemes are mainly based on some of these factors. But he asked “E be Award we go chop?”
Somewhere along line, M.anifest advised that, it’s time to cut out the middlemen (Radios, Entertainment gurus and endorsements) if they keep demanding for money to get songs on radio. And said artistes should stay focused on pushing their works to those who appreciate what they hear even if they are not Ghanaians.
In our opinion, the song goes to Ghanaian music lovers telling them not to get swayed by all these “stunts” and identify “Garbage” if they hear one regardless of what the “Planted” or “forged” records say. And also to the hardworking artistes who aren’t able to get their songs on radio because of money or some “big shots” preventing them to just do their thing and go to where they are loved.
Neat flow, thought-provoking lyrics and a good way to approach many issues in one song. Stream below and share your thoughts.
